What kind of site can I have with VirtualCMS?
VirtualCMS supports a wide range of goals. Each site is uniquely designed to accommodate the mission of your organization. With our ever-growing list of modules the possibilities truly are endless. Our sites range from informational websites to full e-commerce based fundraising platforms.

How much technical knowledge do I need to use VirtualCMS?
VirtualCMS is more than a web site platform. The system is easy enough to use for even the least tech savvy individual, and even so, each of our clients has access to live support. We take on all of the difficult challenges of programming and setup and make it easy for you to manage your own content.

Can I make updates to the website all by myself?
Absolutely! Our WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) editor allows you to create rich content. Our system lets you embed pictures, videos, and other multimedia content with ease. You should be able to perform 95% of your content updates without assistance. For complex updates simply ask our friendly support team!

What will my site look like?
We have several options for setting up a new website. The first is to use one of our existing templates as a framework. Click here to browse our templates page. Using your logo, your navigation, and your color scheme, we will customize one of our templates to fit your site. We offer a premium service to include a full design session (to include mockups and multiple revisions) to create a unique branding for your organization. Alternatively we can take an existing site design and convert it for use with our system.

How long will it take to get my new site live?
As soon as you authorize us to get started, we guarantee a 3 business day turn around for our template based service. Most clients have a new site up and running within 3 business days, however some clients have difficulties getting access to their domain (YourCompany.com) from their previous providers. In such cases, we’ll do our best to work with your existing provider to get you up and running as soon as possible. For full-scale design projects we generally need about 4-5 weeks assuming we can get your input at least once a week to ensure our designs match your expectations.

What happens should I close my account?
We’d hate to see you go, however we understand from time to time an organization’s needs and resources may shift. VirtualCMS is 100% compatibility with the WordPress platform. Unless we have custom designed a module for you, you can be confident that your system will work well on any WordPress compliant host without expensive modifications. The WordPress community ranges in the hundreds of thousands of individuals. Should the need arise, we will transfer your website to your new service provider of choice.

What can I expect from customer service?
Our service desk is staffed with skilled developers who can troubleshoot your issues without having to transfer you or place you on hold. We offer customer support during our normal business hours via email with the option to request a call back. Our business hours are 9 AM – 6 PM Eastern Time. Our most basic plan includes 3 hours of support per month; however during your first month of service we do not place any restrictions. We offer enhanced service plans to those clients who may have larger requirements.

Can my site handle viral growth?
Absolutely! Our servers will automatically scale to handle your visitor growth. Our basic plan includes sufficient computing power to handle roughly 1 million page views per month. Should your site have greater demands, we will contact you to let you know of any additional hosting fees. As a rule of thumb each additional million visitors will cost roughly $100 per month in additional hosting fees.

Can I use my own web hosting company?
Sure – we understand some organizations have special requirements and may wish to use their own hosting provider. We encourage our customers to host with us as we have dedicated 24/7 teams on alert to ensure security and backup procedures are duly followed. Unlike other hosting providers, we offer a hassle free transition to a new provider should you decide to cancel service. With VirtualCMS hosting you retain full control of your domain name (www.YourOrganization.org) and we give you full access to your files. However, should your organization understand the risks and responsibilities associated with hosting we will happily support your needs.
